This plant appears to be an insignificant looking little herb but it is a shrub that is rarely more than 30 cm high and usually hidden among grasses in the shelter of woodlands.
You can see that the flower in the photo is hidden by bracts and that the whole plant is a little hairy.
Sometimes a cluster of its germinated seedling can be found.
Its species name 'tridentata' refers to the 3 teeth at the tip of the leaf.
