This small heath shrub, only about 30 cms high, was seen because it was just tall enough to hold it flowers above the grass which surrounded it. The insert in top right corner is full size (photographed with a 2 mm grid as background) so you can see why it is easy to miss.
I am told that it is becoming less common as rabbits love to eat it. I have returned to the site where it was found in Spring of 2013, but have not yet seen it again.
